Rubio Highlights What Is a Priority for the US

The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, held a phone conversation with the UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, during which he identified the ceasefire and the cessation of conflict as a primary concern for the US administration regarding the resolution of the Ukraine conflict. This information was reported by the State Department's press service.

“The Secretary reaffirmed the US position on the war between Russia and Ukraine; our main priority remains the cessation of hostilities and achieving an immediate ceasefire,” the statement from the US State Department read.

On the night of May 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed that Ukraine hold unconditional direct negotiations in Istanbul on May 15. According to him, Moscow is ready for dialogue and awaits a response from Kyiv and its Western partners.
