Parents of Pushkin School Gather Near MoES Building with a Single Demand

Parents of Pushkin School in Yerevan have gathered in the yard of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (MoES). Their demand is clear: they want the former head of the school, Natalya Stepanyan, to remain in her position despite not passing the final phase of the qualification examination.

Given that two representatives from the Ministry of Education voted against Stepanyan’s candidacy during the oral phase of the competition, and that four out of five members of the committee investigating the appeal are also from MoES, the parents of the school are concerned. They fear the probability of a repeat subjective and arbitrary decision with no substantial basis.

In this regard, the parents demand that Natalya Stepanyan and representatives from the educational and parental councils be present during the discussion of the complaint. This would ensure transparency from the MoES.

Earlier, it was reported that there are no classes at Pushkin School today. Parents of the students had gathered in the school yard to collectively move to the MoES building, where they would hold a peaceful protest.
