I had the honor to witness Secretary of State Rubin engaging in constant phone conversations with the leaders of India and Pakistan over the past few days to prevent the dangerous escalation of the situation. This was stated by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau on the social network X.

Vance have made it clear to all of us working in their administration that our goal is to promote the establishment of PEACE, whether it's between India and Pakistan, Russia and Ukraine, Israel and its neighbors, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, Azerbaijan and Armenia, or other countries. As diplomats, and frankly as human beings, we are called to prevent or stop WARS. We are proud that our team was able to fulfill this promise today, and we express our gratitude to the leadership of India and Pakistan for choosing prudence and restraint,” Landau noted.
