Macron Threatens Russia
Julya
New sanctions against Russia could be implemented within a few days if the country refuses to accept the conditions of a 30-day ceasefire. This was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron.
“The coming days will be crucial for us to be able to introduce a new package of sanctions,” he said in response to a question about when sanctions would be imposed if Moscow does not accept the ceasefire terms.
The French President added that the new sanctions will be much more “rigorous for the Russian economy” and should serve as “a deterrent factor in some way.”
Additionally, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has also announced a tightening of sanctions against Russia if Moscow rejects the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire.
