Garegin II's Congratulations to the Pope

His Holiness Garegin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected Pope Leo XIII. In the letter, the Pontiff expresses: "On behalf of the clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, the believers, and the Catholicos of All Armenians, we send our heartfelt best wishes to you on your assumption of the high and responsible mission of shepherding millions of Catholic believers around the globe.

As you embark on this new stage of your apostolic service, we pray that God grants you strength and grace to guide the Catholic Church with truth and compassion, and to continually testify to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in a world in desperate need of peace, justice, and spiritual renewal.

We give thanks to the Lord for the enduring bond of Christian love and relations between our two sister churches, which have strengthened in recent decades through mutual respect, brotherly meetings, and collective testimonies," the message states. His Holiness has wished the Pope good health for many years and an endless spiritual strength to lead the faithful flock entrusted to Him by God.
