Most Key Witnesses of October 27 Have Died in Very Strange Ways: Kocharyan
Today, May 8, is the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland. According to tradition, I was supposed to go to Yerablur, but I have not gone in order to listen to the speech of the Prosecutor regarding the October 27 case. This was stated by Andranik Kocharyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction in the National Assembly.
"I am personally interested in your approaches to two crucial undisclosed cases—October 27 and March 1. You mentioned that this is a matter of national honor for our country; indeed, October 27 is a crime, and the failure to disclose it will not lead to anything good," he said.
The MP recalled the words of Hrant Matevosyan, stating that October 27 should have been resolved on October 28. "This worm should not devour us every day; we should not find enemies among ourselves. I expected that you would mention the October 27 case not in terms of the secrecy of the preliminary investigation but in relation to things not related to the secrecy of the preliminary investigation. Ultimately, I should be addressing this question to you, not to Agvan Hovsepyan. How do you envision it, given that if Agvan Hovsepyan were the prosecutor and asked about October 27," he said.
The MP noted that after the revolution, Arthur Davtyan was the Prosecutor General, and their expectations were not met. "Now, when you were appointed, I have always thought that the institution of the Prosecutor General is the most important in the health of the country. Most key witnesses have died in very strange ways—in isolation. Edik Grigoryan continues to remain in isolation in a very good environment. What do you think, Madam Prosecutor? If there were not significant forces behind all this, would there be such strange cases of death? These questions provide much fertile ground for disclosure," Kocharyan said.
He reiterated that October 27 should have been disclosed on October 28. "Today is 2025, the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland. I did not go; what should I say to Vazgen Sargsyan when sitting by his grave, lighting incense? I am not satisfied; you have not said a word about October 27. Were you saving it for us? You should not have spared me, Gagik Melkonyan, or Seyran Ohanyan. Give us a prospect to close the topic of the 27th as soon as possible; there are still crucial witnesses," the MP said.
