Class Strike at Pushkin School

Students of Pushkin Secondary School No. 8 in Yerevan have been conducting a class strike since the morning. They are demanding the cancellation of the decision to dismiss school principal Natalia Stepanyan. This was reported by NEWS.am.

Parents of the students told the media that they have organized a petition to reverse the decision to dismiss the principal. They stated that until the decision is revoked, their children will not attend school.

Margarit Khachatryan, head of the general education department of the Yerevan Municipality, told MediaHub that the school has been without a principal for a long time, and a competitive process is underway. One of the deputy principals is currently acting as the principal. She will continue in this role until a new principal is selected through the procedure,” Khachatryan noted.
