I Would Not Vote for Ghukasian Due to Personal Issues: Martun Grigoryan

MP Martun Grigoryan from the 'Honorary' faction of the National Assembly believes that the ruling 'Civil Contract' party hoped that he would not vote for Vardan Ghukasian due to personal issues.

“Everyone was demanding as one person, ‘Martun, give the opportunity so that the collective opposition's victory is not wasted, that victory should come to Yerevan.’ We took our steps, but the wave of victory has not yet reached Yerevan,” Grigoryan said in a conversation with reporters.

He noted that personal issues remain personal and should not interfere, as there are state and national issues at hand. “It is wrong to be guided by personal issues at this time,” the MP stated.

Grigoryan did not comment on whether Ghukasian is a good mayor or not, stating it is too early for such assessments. “But I must say that Vardan Ghukasian is not the sole mayor in Gyumri; he became the mayor with the support of three forces, and he is responsible to both the residents of Gyumri and those forces. I want to directly tell the dear residents of Gyumri that there is absolutely no cause for concern,” the MP emphasized.
