I Experienced 'Spanish Shame' Because of Them: Khandanian
KP faction member Sargis Khandanian stated that he experienced 'Spanish shame' due to the actions of the opposition. In the National Assembly today, he announced that during the EPP congress held in Valencia, Hayk Mamijanyan, the leader of the 'Honorary' faction, and Raffi Hovhannisyan, the president of the 'Heritage' party, called for a vote against the resolution regarding Armenia.
"It was a rather good resolution, discussing democratic progress in Armenia, reforms in the areas of human rights and the rule of law, rapprochement with the EU, the release of prisoners, and so on. And here comes the Spanish shame," stated Khandanian.
According to him, the EPP adopted the resolution with three abstentions. "They say that this resolution was written in the CP offices, which is a very puzzling claim because, in that case, for instance, the resolutions of the European Parliament are also written in the CP, or the strategic partnership document with the USA is developed in the CP offices, and so on. Apparently, we are the strongest party in the world, indeed, we should not be surprised," the KP member mocked.
He added that the opposition's behavior is now a matter of national security, not just a question of shame.
