Trump on Putin's Decision

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Russia's proposal for a three-day ceasefire is "a lot" considering how the resolution of the Russia-Ukraine war began. He made this announcement during a speech at the White House, according to TASS.

“President Putin has declared a three-day ceasefire, which may not seem like much, but it is a big deal if you knew where we started,” said Donald Trump.

Trump further emphasized that the war in Ukraine should not have taken place, noting that if he had not become president, no one would be talking about peace. “We had a president who didn’t speak with Putin for three years,” he said, referring to former U.S. President Joe Biden.

“I think we have come a long way, and maybe something will happen. I hope that it will happen,” Trump added.
