Search Conducted at Judge's Home, Large Amount of Cash Discovered

According to exclusive information received by ArmLur.am, law enforcement authorities have searched the home of Judge Artush Gabrielyan and discovered a large sum of money.

As reported by the newspaper, the amount of money found is approximately $550,000. Attempts were made to clarify with Gabrielyan's lawyer, Erik Aleksanyan, whether a search was indeed conducted and whether such an amount of money was discovered. In response, he stated that they have appealed the decision to detain Judge Artush Gabrielyan, and due to the interests of the preliminary investigation, he cannot disclose further details.

On May 2, Judge Artush Gabrielyan was detained and is currently located in the Vardashen penitentiary. The Anti-Corruption Committee has officially announced that, according to the committee, in relation to bribery cases under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, an evidentiary operation was carried out on April 29, 2025, at the Shengavit courthouse of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan with the participation of a representative of the Armenian judicial authority. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Since 2011, there has been a criminal case against Artush Gabrielyan related to the transportation of a large batch of heroin into Armenia and the illegal circulation of drugs in Yerevan. According to preliminary findings, Judge Artush Gabrielyan delayed the case until the 15-year statute of limitations expired, which would allow for the release of the 'mastermind' of the heroin case, Zohrab Yezgatyani, from penal consequences.

Two other individuals are also in detention as part of this criminal case, one of whom is a friend of Judge Artush Gabrielyan and the other is a briber.
