Details on the Disappearance of a Two-Year-Old Child
Yesterday morning, between 10:00 and 11:00, news spread in the village of Marmarik, part of the enlarged community of Tsaghkadzor, that a 2-year-old child had fallen into the Marmarik River. The incident occurred in the morning. The child's father and grandfather were repairing a car when the father sent the children—a daughter and a son—back home, which was at most 50 meters away.
In an interview with Aysor.am, Arthur Karamyan, the head of the Marmarik administrative district, stated that the child has not yet been found: "The divers from Lake Sevan are currently conducting search operations in the river, which is very turbulent right now. They have not found anything yet. Search operations were conducted until 3 AM last night and are now being resumed."
When asked about one of the theories suggesting that the child may have been kidnapped, Karamyan responded: "Anyone can say what they want; that is another side of the issue. In any case, they do not have enemies like that to do something like this. I do not believe that. There is a store surveillance camera in the area, which is very far away and has not recorded anything."
The district head added that the child's house is located about 200 meters from the river: "But the child would have had to cross the property to end up in the river, which they also rule out. There is no other theory at this moment. We are all suffering."
