After Closed Consultations, Pakistan Will Address the Media: Pakistan's Foreign Ministry
Pakistan has requested closed consultations in the United Nations Security Council due to the prevailing situation in the region, particularly against the backdrop of escalating tensions with India. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
"A request has been made for closed consultations in the Security Council," announced the Greek diplomats presiding over the UN Security Council.
Representatives from Pakistan in the Security Council clarified that the upcoming closed consultations are related to the deteriorating situation in the region and the growing tension in relations with India.
"After the closed consultations, Pakistan will address the media," the diplomats added.
It is worth noting that following a terrorist attack in the northern Indian region of Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, India has taken several measures against Pakistan. India has also closed the water supply from the Chenab River, which flows to Pakistan through the Baglihar Dam.
India and Pakistan have reduced the number of their diplomatic missions, prohibited each other's ships from entering their ports, announced a cessation of trade, and revoked visas for each other's citizens.
