Trump on Running for President for a Third Time
Mariam Z.
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will not be running for a third presidential term. He made this statement in an interview with NBC News.
"I will have been president for eight years, two terms. I've always thought that was very important. I will have four great years, then I will hand it off to someone else," said the White House leader.
On March 30, Trump declared that he is serious about his statements regarding a possible third presidential term. He mentioned that it is premature to discuss running, but noted that "many people" would support this decision.
At the same time, U.S. Constitution prohibits being re-elected for more than two terms.
