This is Turkey's Reality, Erdoğan Says
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has spoken about the frequent earthquakes in the country. “Earthquakes are our country's reality, and future earthquakes cannot be prevented. However, we can end the losses and build strong structures. For this, we must approach the issue with understanding, taking the overall picture into account. The disaster of the century that affected 11 provinces (in February 2023) showed us that it is possible to avert a disaster,” Erdoğan stated after returning from the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
It is worth noting that on April 23, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Sea of Marmara, near the shores of Istanbul, which was followed by aftershocks. As a result of the natural disaster, 236 people were injured.
