Plane Crashes into Residential Homes, One Fatality in California

A plane has crashed into residential homes in Simi Valley, California. According to ABC news, there was only the pilot on board, who unfortunately has died.
The crash resulted in damage to two residential houses and sparked a fire. Forty firefighters have been dispatched to the scene. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the residents inside the buildings.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the aircraft had taken off from William Fox Airport in Lancaster and was en route to Camarillo Airport, located about an hour from Los Angeles. The downed aircraft was a single-engine Van's Aircraft RV-10, the agency noted.
