Zelensky Evaluates Talks with Trump at the Vatican
The leader of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has described his talks with US President Donald Trump at the Vatican as the best meeting ever between two politicians. This was reported by Reuters.
According to the state leader, the main topics of discussion were conflict resolution and anti-Russian sanctions. During the conversation, Trump agreed that establishing a 30-day ceasefire would be the right first step to end the confrontation between Moscow and Kyiv. He also stated that the US President had reacted "very strongly" regarding the issue of anti-Russian sanctions.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader did not elaborate on the specific details of what was discussed.
It is worth noting that on April 26, a farewell ceremony for Pope Francis took place at the Vatican, attended by leaders from dozens of countries. Zelensky and Trump also participated in the memorial event, having a brief meeting beforehand. Both Kyiv and Washington have positively assessed the negotiations.
