Zakharova Reminds Trump Who Is Behind It All
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Foreign Ministry, reminded U.S. President Donald Trump of the words of his predecessor, Franklin Roosevelt, regarding the decisive contribution of the USSR to the victory in World War II, following Trump’s statements.
“The Red Army and the Russian people certainly forced Hitler’s armed forces onto the path of final defeat and won the admiration of the American people for a long time,” she quoted the words of the American leader that he wrote in a letter to Joseph Stalin on February 22, 1943.
It should be noted that President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. did more for victory in World War II than any other country. He also declared May 8 as Victory Day in World War II and November 11 as Victory Day in World War I.
