People don't know this much, they think they've just covered up again: Pashinyan
The 11.8 km section of the M3 interstate road from Spitak to Vanadzor has been completely renovated. To implement the project, the government has allocated 3 billion 86 million drams. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, on his Facebook page, along with a related video.
“People see that there is a problem with the smoothness of the road and think, ‘Hmm, something is wrong here.’ They say, ‘Doesn’t the government see this?’ The company has to fix it well; it's their reputational problem. People need to be told that money has been saved for this, not that we closed our eyes. People don’t know this much; they think they have just covered it up again. Let’s inform the public that these roads are not accepted,” said the Prime Minister.
According to him, the road is not very smooth, and money has been held back from the contractor for this reason. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures David Khudatyan also noted that there are currently 26 unaccepted roads in Armenia for which payments have been made at less than half the required amount. If the issue is only about the top layer, the contractor is required to rectify the deficiencies.
