The Ministry of Internal Affairs Reports on Incident of Violence Against a Citizen by Police

On May 1, regarding a video circulated on social media involving police officers, I would like to report that officers from the Community Police Department in Armavir visited the home of a resident following a decision by the investigator to forcibly present him to the prosecuting authority. Upon arrival, the individual exhibited inappropriate behavior by not complying with the legal demands of the police officers.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Minister of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan. He added, “Subsequently, the police officers applied physical force and forcibly presented him to the prosecuting authority. The legality of the police officers’ actions is being investigated by the Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.”
