Judge Artush Gabrielian Arrested

Judge Artush Gabrielian has been arrested. His lawyer Erik Aleksanyan reported this to NEWS.am.

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has approved both motions regarding the situation, after which charges of bribery were brought against Gabrielian. Subsequently, a request for his arrest was submitted to the court, which was ultimately granted.

Additionally, the SJC issued another decision to suspend the judge's powers, considering that criminal proceedings have been initiated against him.

It should be recalled that Judge Artush Gabrielian was in a court session on April 29 when law enforcement officials arrived at the courthouse to conduct a search in his office. Following this, the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan applied to the SJC for permission to initiate criminal proceedings against the judge and to deprive him of his freedom.
