In Ukraine, the Sooner They Accept This Fact, the Better: Russian Foreign Ministry

The Crimean Peninsula is a sovereign territory of the Russian Federation, and both the West and Ukraine understand this perfectly. The sooner they accept this fact, the better it will be for them. This was stated by Artem Berezovski, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in Simferopol, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“In the West, as well as in Ukraine, they understand perfectly that Crimea is a sovereign territory of the Russian Federation, not because Russia wants it to be this way, but because the people of Crimea themselves wanted it to be so,” Berezovski said. “And the sooner they accept this fact, the better it will be for them,” he added.

According to him, Crimea is not something that can be transferred.

“Crimea represents 2.5 million destinies, and people have clearly answered whom they want to link their future and that of their children with,” Berezovski noted.
