Wildberries' New Changes: What You Need to Know
Wildberries has started withholding the delivery fee from buyers during product returns. This was stated by the company in response to a query from Sputnik Armenia.
Since mid-April, the delivery cost has been displayed separately from the product price when placing orders on the online marketplace. In this regard, many residents of Armenia have doubted that a new paid service has emerged on the platform.
Wildberries clarified that a small delivery fee (about $1) has always been charged, but this fee will no longer be reimbursed for the return of products that are free of defects. Exceptions are made for defective or damaged products, for which the delivery fee is refunded.
"The delivery cost is not reimbursed when returning a product that is free of defects. This is related to the increase in logistics costs and our effort to make purchases more conscious," the company explained.
Wildberries emphasized that in the countries where it operates, it is actively developing its logistics capabilities. International delivery also includes air freight, which increases shipping costs. Moreover, the online commerce platform assured that the prices set by sellers for products have not changed.
Now, the product price and delivery amount are displayed separately in the customer's cart, allowing the buyer to see all costs in advance. The calculation of the delivery cost depends on the dimensions of the products, the complexity of the route, and the distance from the warehouse.
