We Could Have Won on Our Own Without US Assistance: Peskov
Ofelya
The USSR could have defeated fascism without assistance from the United States. This was stated by the press secretary of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, according to TASS.
"American textbooks now write that Washington played a decisive role in the victory over Nazi Germany by providing the Red Army with the necessary resources. The USSR could have won exclusively on its own strength. However, we should still be grateful to our allies and not forget their assistance," Peskov added.
Peskov also reminded that Moscow only paid for that assistance in 2006.
