Traffic Rules Apply to Those Who Are Not ‘Krutoy’ - Pashinyan

Mariam Z.

Traffic rules are written for those who are not 'krutoy'. This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government session, addressing the societal stereotype mindset that has become entrenched among the public, emphasizing that this is not how we become a state.

“We will not become one, and that is why we are not becoming one. Here, everything is mandatory, but there are still categories to which this does not apply: in the criminal procedure code, civil code, and in traffic regulations. The traffic rules relate to those who are not 'krutoy'; that depends too. There are people who might be 'krutoy' in violating speed limits, but when stopping at a traffic light, they are not 'krutoy', and so on. Therefore, this is our attitude towards the law. So, as long as you haven't accomplished much in this life, that you have to live by the law. In this life, haven’t you accomplished something, from schools, kindergartens, to having a neighborhood, so much that you have exceptions in your life?” said Pashinyan.
