The Role of the Soviet Union is Being Falsified and Undermined: Putin
Russia is currently facing serious challenges regarding the falsification of the outcomes of World War II; it is crucial to resist the spread of racism, neo-Nazism, Russophobia, and other destructive ideologies. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“Today, when we face serious challenges, when the results of the fiercest war of the 20th century are being revised and falsified for selfish political interests, and the role of the Soviet Union in achieving victory is being undermined, it is important to unite in defending the truth about the past war,” emphasized Putin.
According to him, it is necessary to resist the spread of any forms of racism, neo-Nazism, Russophobia, anti-Semitism, and other destructive ideologies. “It is our duty to the veterans and future generations. A solid foundation for building safe and just peace, equal and partnership relations among nations,” the head of state noted.
Putin also added that this year, Russia is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. “It is dear to all those who preserve the everlasting memory of the heroes of the generation of victors, those who defeated Nazism, defended their homeland, and saved the peoples of Europe from enslavement,” he said.
