Judge Artush Gabrielyan Detained
The Anti-Corruption Committee is conducting investigative actions regarding Artush Gabrielyan, a judge of the Shengavit court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan.
Today, April 29, a case related to the 44-day war was being heard at the Shengavit court, presided over by Judge Gabrielyan. According to "Hetq," the public prosecutor in the case, Vazgen Vardanyan, requested a 10-minute break in the proceedings due to receiving an important call. During the break, commotion and unrest ensued in the corridor of the court.
A few minutes later, the court secretary announced that the proceedings were postponed indefinitely. Parents of the deceased who were present at the hearing and are victims in the case reported seeing Judge Artush Gabrielyan being taken away.
Auroranews confirmed that the Anti-Corruption Committee is currently conducting investigative actions within the framework of the ongoing investigation. No further details are known at this time.
It is worth noting that the Anti-Corruption Court accepted a lawsuit from the Prosecutor General's Office on October 15, 2024, regarding the confiscation of property of illegal origin. The department dealing with confiscation of illegally obtained property from the Prosecutor General's Office has filed a request to the court to confiscate five real estate properties, four vehicles, a portion in a legal entity, 62 million 811 thousand drams, and an amount equivalent to the average market value of a residential house from Judge Artush Gabrielyan and persons connected to him for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia.
