Explosion at Gas Station on Sevan-Yerevan Highway
An explosion occurred today, April 29, in the Gegharkunik province. Around 09:30, the Patrol Service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information about an explosion at the gas station located at the 3rd km mark of the Sevan-Yerevan highway.
According to Shamshyan.com, a firefighting unit consisting of one combat crew from the Sevan Rescue Service arrived at the scene. It was found that the explosion occurred in the rear area of the gas station, involving a pipe connected to the compressor, which resulted in damage to three parked vehicles and several solar panels installed nearby.
Fortunately, preliminary reports indicate that there were no injuries. Currently, the community police of Sevan are identifying the owners of the gas station as well as the damaged vehicles and solar panels. For further details, Auroranews has reached out to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A spokesperson stated, "An alert was received about an explosion at the gas station located at the beginning of the Sevan-Yerevan highway. Three cars and two solar panels were damaged as a result of the explosion. The cause is unknown. According to the alert, there are no casualties."
