Letter from Titanic Survivor Sold at Record Price

A letter written by a survivor of the Titanic disaster has been sold at auction for a record £300,000. This information was reported by The Guardian.

Initially, there was hope at the auction that the letter would sell for £60,000. The letter was written by first-class passenger Colonel Archibald Gracie, who authored the book "The Truth About Titanic," in which he described his impressions of the tragedy on April 15, 1912, which claimed 1,500 lives on the journey to New York.
