Two Countries to Repay Part of Syria's Debt to the World Bank

Saudi Arabia and Qatar are preparing to repay approximately $15 million of Syria's debt to the World Bank. This was stated in a joint announcement by the two countries, as reported by Reuters.

This move could pave the way for the restoration of the country's paralyzed public sector and facilitate the establishment of millions of dollars in grants aimed at support.

The program will mark Saudi Arabia's first known instance of financing Syria following the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad last year to Islamist-led rebels.
