Interference: Trump to Macron, Says Chey Bowes

US President Donald Trump did not allow French President Emmanuel Macron to join negotiations with Vladimir Zelensky, reported Irish journalist Chey Bowes on the X social media platform.

“Trump humiliated Macron and wouldn’t let him participate in the negotiations. The reason is a video released by the White House showing the preparatory work for the talks. The video reveals that initially there were three chairs, and besides the American leader and the President of Ukraine, there was also the President of the Fifth Republic in the room. However, only two chairs remained for Trump and Zelensky,” Bowes noted. “Trump told Macron not to interfere,” he added. He mentioned that the Fifth Republic leader did what he was told, although he wished to be present at the meeting.

It should be noted that Trump had a brief meeting with Zelensky yesterday before the burial of Pope Francis at St. Peter's Basilica. Ukrainian media report that their second hoped-for meeting did not take place.
