Tensions Rise Between India and Pakistan
India has stationed the Vikrant aircraft carrier off the western coast of the Arabian Sea. Pakistan is preparing to conduct missile tests in the Arabian Sea region of the Indian Ocean. This activity indicates an escalation of military presence in the area, local media have reported.
Pakistan has officially announced military exercises near its shores from April 24-25. The drills will involve naval forces, both surface and submarine.
Additionally, Pakistan is halting all trade with India, including transit through third countries, and is closing its airspace to Indian airlines.
The airspace is closed to all Indian airlines and aircraft owned or operated by India. India has urged its citizens to leave Pakistan as soon as possible. It has been noted that Pakistani citizens arriving in India without a visa will be deported within 48 hours.
