We Pay Attention and Draw Conclusions: Simonian on Border Situation
Ask the opposition figures working with Azerbaijan; they say very well what Azerbaijan is doing, and then they blame us for its implementation. They say that if Azerbaijan is shooting, then it won’t work for you. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, in a conversation with journalists.
"The logical reasoning suggests that the answer and the addressee is the opposition. I repeat, let those who work with them provide the answer to the question," he said.
Simonian also noted that negotiations are not at a deadlock and will not reach a dead end, and the likelihood of war is not increasing in any way or by any step. "I had a brief conversation with the president of the Azerbaijani parliament. We have a situation where there is an agreed document. I must say that, in my impression, there is no need to talk about any deadlock; we cannot speak of it. It is also advantageous for the Azerbaijani side that we complete the process as quickly as possible.
We must do everything to make our agenda—peace—a reality, regardless of whether shots were fired or not. Yes, those are things we pay attention to and draw conclusions about, but I have told you our goal," the Speaker of the National Assembly stated.
