The Ministry Has Released a Clarification Regarding Transportation in Kasakh

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement regarding transportation in Kasakh.

"We inform you that within the framework of the program for the reform of the unified route network, several options have been proposed to address the complaints raised by residents of the villages of Kasakh and Proshyan regarding the withdrawal of transportation serving the community of Yerevan from its administrative territory and the entry of inter-regional transport into the villages.

Specifically:

1. Reduction of transportation fees:
   • Proshyan-Yerevan: 200 drams (instead of 250 drams)
   • Kasakh-Yerevan: 150 drams (instead of 200 drams)
2. Increase in the number of scheduled trips.
3. Access to the capital's transport from the interstate road adjacent to the villages.
4. Increase in the number of transport vehicles.
5. Change of endpoint in Yerevan.

We assess the repeated protests and acts of disobedience by certain residents after the aforementioned proposals and measures as unconstructive, which endangers the continuity of transportation reforms and creates problems for residents of the adjacent communities to Yerevan, where inter-regional transport operates. The demands raised also do not fall within the framework of current legislation."
