Evacuations Begin in Dozens of Settlements in One of Russia's Regions

The operational headquarters has decided to organize evacuations following an emergency incident in Vladimir region. This was reported by the regional governor, Alexander Avdeyev.

He noted that all emergency services are involved at the explosion site. "An ammunition detonation occurred in the area of the Kirzhach military unit due to an emergency situation. A depot for shells has exploded. An operational headquarters has been established, which has decided to carry out evacuations of the military unit, seven settlements, and 12 summer cottage communities," he stated.

It should be reminded that earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that ammunition stored in the warehouse exploded as a result of a fire that broke out in the area of the Vladimir military unit. Preliminary information indicates there are no casualties, and the fire was caused by violations of safety requirements during work involving explosive materials.
