Armenia Will Lose Its Advantages If the West Draws It into This Game – Russian Foreign Ministry

Moscow is concerned about Armenia's aspirations to join the EU, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, as reported by TASS. He stated that Armenia risks losing the advantages of the EAEU if the West draws it into its geopolitical games.

“It is well known that Armenia is dynamically developing due to its participation in the EAEU, and economic growth is observed in all key sectors for Yerevan. This is a tremendous wealth that Armenia could lose if the West draws it into its geopolitical game, trying to pull Armenia away from Russia and other natural allies,” emphasized the deputy minister.

When asked whether Moscow is concerned about Armenia's aspirations to join the EU, Grushko answered positively. “Of course, Armenia’s aspirations to join the EU are concerning, as such intentions are incompatible with this country’s membership in the EAEU, and we discuss this with our Armenian partners in our numerous communications,” the diplomat noted.
