AI Allows the State Revenue Committee to Target Specific Businesses
The State Revenue Committee of Armenia is the only governmental body that utilizes artificial intelligence tools. This was stated by the Chairman of the Committee, Eduard Hakobyan, during a broadcast on Public Television, where he elaborated on the opportunities it provides.
According to the Chairman, this technology allows for targeting and approaching specific businesses for relevant inspections, significantly reducing the number of visits. “Now it follows a path, and efficiency is increasing. Recently, we developed a new program in collaboration with the American University, and a new set of artificial intelligence tools was created. The development of these analyses has no alternative. If we truly want to serve tax payments, we must also consider the economy,” stated Hakobyan.
“One of the new approaches is that, in addition to assessing the risks of individual businesses, we also look at sectoral developments. In other words, we conduct studies based on the economic developments. This allows us to understand the state of development of the particular sector, what level of shadow economy exists, and what the risk level is. By correlating all these parameters, we make informed decisions about where to carry out inspections,” Eduard Hakobyan noted.
