Pashinyan Considered the Artsakh Movement an Obstacle to the Struggle, Gegham Manukyan

Gegham Manukyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction, posed a question today: which media outlet was campaigning against Vazgen Sargsyan before October 27, 1990? In response, ruling party MP Vahagn Aleksanyan interjected, calling out the Dashnaktsutyun party.

“Who said that? You hit your head against the wall, ‘Haykakan Zhamanak,’ Nikol Pashinyan, go and read the press,” Manukyan declared.

According to him, Pashinyan’s theses threaten our statehood and national existence. “Pashinyan’s speech in the National Assembly has a clear goal: to deprive the Armenian people of their roots, memory, and identity,” noted the opposition MP.

He highlighted that Pashinyan contrasts the Artsakh movement with the struggle for independence, deeming the Artsakh movement as an obstacle to that struggle. “The Artsakh movement was not an obstacle to independence but rather its driving force; Pashinyan does not want to account for historical facts,” emphasized Gegham Manukyan.

He declared that Artsakh was a crucial security cushion and factor for Armenia.
