US and Iran Have Just Initiated Negotiations

The second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States has commenced in Rome, as reported by the Iranian state television and radio company.

Mohammad Golzari, secretary of the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology of Iran, announced that the country’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has traveled to the USA for the second round of indirect negotiations, accompanied by experienced Iranian diplomats, after a meeting with his Italian counterpart.

Today, in historic Rome, the second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States will take place, mediated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, as reported by the official representative of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghaei, on X.

He added that Tehran has always demonstrated its commitment to diplomacy as a “civilized means of resolving issues, fully respecting the great interests of the Iranian nation.” The negotiations in Rome are being conducted with Omani mediation, according to Tasnim.

Prior to this, the delegations of Iran and the US met on April 12 in Muscat, where discussions were held about lifting restrictions and the nuclear issue. This meeting also took place with the mediation of the Omani Foreign Minister, with Araghchi and the US Special Representative for Middle East Affairs, Steve McGloo, participating.
