109 Boys for Every 100 Girls: Arsen Torosyan

We need to return to our previous regulations where it would not be possible to determine the sex of the child to be born using assisted reproductive technologies. This was stated by Arsen Torosyan, a member of the National Assembly from the ruling Civil Contract party and former Minister of Health.

“We already have an initiative with colleagues that will soon be introduced for discussion. Currently, there are 109 boys for every 100 girls. This means we have a problem regarding sex-selective abortions,” Torosyan said.
