Serious Problems Await Us: Erdoğan
Mariam Z.
We do not want new crises in our region, which has already suffered from instability and conflicts for many years. This statement was made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to local media.
He noted that "thanks to cross-border operations in northern Syria and Iraq, Turkey has approached the eradication of terrorism at its roots and is now entering a new phase." In his opinion, the struggle in the future will not be for oil, but for water—the most strategic resource of the 21st century.
"Turkey is not a water-rich country; we live under conditions of water scarcity. If we do not take measures, we will face much more serious problems," Erdoğan stated.
