I Have Very Specific Issues in This Regard: Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vahagn Khachaturyan participated in a business conference titled "Enhancing the Economic Competitiveness of Armenia through Policy and Governance Improvements" in Dilijan. This was reported by the Government of Armenia.

The conference, held in a Government-Business Community format, was organized at the initiative of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the aim of identifying issues in economic activity and the investment environment through broad, open, and effective discussions, uncovering new development opportunities, increasing management efficiency, and clarifying the priorities for reforms for joint decision-making.

In his welcoming remarks, Prime Minister Pashinyan thanked representatives of the business community from various sectors of the economy, experts, and sectoral officials for participating and actively engaging in the conference. In his speech, the Prime Minister detailed the priorities for Armenia's economic development and the existing challenges, emphasizing the importance of continuous, constructive, and effective dialogue between the executive branch and the private sector.

According to the Prime Minister, such large-scale events are crucial for forming a common understanding of how the Government and the private sector can serve the interests of the Republic of Armenia more effectively, ensuring sustainable economic growth. "Economic development and its outcomes are what will either enable or limit our opportunities to address and solve long-term issues. In this regard, I certainly have very specific issues resulting from this conference; it is also important to understand what the atmosphere is like in the business environment and what problems exist, how close we are to solving those problems, and so on," Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of forming an agenda for upcoming economic activities as a result of the conference, based on a collaborative working logic. In this context, Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the necessity of developing a comprehensive roadmap aimed at serving the public interest and forming consensus and shared understanding around it.

"I want to thank everyone again for their willingness to participate in the discussions and hope that discussions will occur in this spirit. We will emerge from this discussion with a much clearer understanding of our upcoming tasks and will understand how the Government's programs are perceived by the business community, and of course, we are energized to implement that agenda and roadmap as effectively as possible," the country’s leader noted.

Following the Prime Minister's speech, panel discussions were held on topics such as "Macroeconomic, Investment, and Educational Policies as Pillars of Economic Competitiveness," "Effective Governance as a Determining Factor of the Economic Environment," and "Prospects for Government-Business Community Dialogue." During the discussions, the existing issues in the sector and the economic opportunities for their resolution were addressed.

The conference also highlighted the need to enhance the efficiency of ongoing reforms, improve the State Revenue Committee's administration, and ensure the inclusiveness of decisions made by the executive branch. At the conclusion, Nikol Pashinyan presented the philosophy of the "Real Armenia."
