Drive Around Yerevan Again, We’re Overcoming Trenches: MP

During a discussion on the report regarding the progress and results of the government’s 2024 program, MP Elinar Vardanyan from the ‘Armenia’ faction stated that while the report was presented beautifully in a colorful booklet, the real question on the outcomes should be posed to the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.

“The citizens of Armenia have felt the results of the 2024 program in their lives and daily routines. For example, ask the entrepreneurs who are conducting protests near the government building how the results of the 2024 program are impacting them. Ask the pensioner who is paying property tax for the property inherited from their parents or perhaps grandparents. Ask the entrepreneur who, due to late tax payments, is now paying a penalty of 0.075% instead of 0.4%,” she said.

Vardanyan pointed out that many issues related to the implementation of the government program can still be cited—corruption, unmet promises, dangers, and threats. “But you know, people see everything clearly; they assess these results in their everyday lives,” she added.

“Finally, I wanted to make a few remarks regarding the roads. You know, we are already tired of the praises about the asphalt. Just drive around in Yerevan again; we’re overcoming trenches. Once, you might have treated the icy roads with salt, but today we are battling through trenches to get to work,” she concluded.
