Vardan Ghukasyan on Having a Political Base

"I do not have a political base." This was stated by the Mayor of Gyumri, Vardan Ghukasyan, during a briefing with journalists at the Gyumri City Hall.

"You can connect whatever you want, say whatever you want. I do not have a political base, and I am not cooperating with anyone in politics. I openly say this, and I ask you to take my words as a basis. Unlike some political figures, I do not say one thing one day, another thing the next day, and another thing later. At this point, I am not heading down a political road with anyone. Maybe that will change in the future – never say never," he stated.

When asked how he plans to work without a political base, Ghukasyan responded, "All factions cast their votes, and after that, we will cooperate and work together. One person may belong to one party, while another belongs to another party, but our foundation must be the interest of the city. There must be solidarity; we should not create conflicts, trip each other, uphold our words, keep our promises, and not betray someone behind their back. This has been the way I have lived my life."
