US to Withdraw Troops from Syria

The United States has informed Israel of its intention to begin a gradual withdrawal of American troops from Syria within two months, as reported by Ynet. Israel has previously attempted to prevent such a development, but those efforts have been unsuccessful. Nevertheless, Israeli intelligence officials continue to apply pressure on Washington to maintain American forces in Syria.

In December 2024, the Pentagon announced that approximately 2,000 American service members were stationed in Syria.
