Vardan Ghukasyan, after being elected as the mayor of Gyumri, announced that his first step will be aimed at increasing people's salaries. According to him, the community's budget needs to be increased.

"I know where to add to the budget," he stated.

Ghukasyan also addressed the possibility of the Civil Contract faction boycotting the council's work, saying, "Whatever steps they take, it will be against the people; this is not Ghukasyan’s problem, it is a matter for the city's residents. If they need to exert pressure on the population, the people will express their opinion in the next elections."
