The Region's Potential Can Be Unveiled: Kavelashvili to Aliyev

We welcome the agreement on the text of the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This was stated by Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili during a meeting with Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

“We believe that a peace treaty will be signed in the near future. I would like to reiterate Georgia's readiness to contribute to the peace process. We hope that a historic agreement will be signed soon, which will serve as a significant impetus for ensuring long-term and stable peace in the region. I want to emphasize Georgia's declared peace policy and its willingness to contribute to peacekeeping in the region. I want to assure you that Georgia has always supported dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful coexistence in the South Caucasus, and this course will continue in the future,” said Kavelashvili.

According to him, the South Caucasus needs peace to enhance the region's influence on the international scale. “The full potential of the region can be unveiled after the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Georgia advocates for resolution of conflicts through peace and dialogue,” concluded the Georgian president.
