The Population Will See and Say: Very Good – Pashinyan

We are currently proposing to open the railway connection, specifically on the Horadiz-Yeraskh line; we are ready to go for these solutions today. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, in the National Assembly.

“When we say we are ready to proceed in this logic, it means we have certain confidence that our public, including the residents of Meghri and Syunik, will see and say: very good, a normal compromise can be mutually acceptable.

No talk of softening can be entertained because we presented our positions in the ‘Peace Crossroad’ project a long time ago.

In response to a remark that Azerbaijan always says it wants an unobstructed road, what this implies, Pashinyan stated that he does not know what they contradict under that.

“We state our principles and say that within the framework of our principles, we will go for clarifications. Azerbaijan says that since Armenia is not providing solutions and proposals, it has decided to utilize the route through Iran. This indicates that the Iranian route and its conditions are acceptable to them. We say we are ready to ensure the same conditions through the territory of Armenia, to showcase that the conditions we propose may not be acceptable to Azerbaijan and do not correspond to reality. If the same conditions are acceptable for passing through the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, then why should they not be acceptable for passing through the territory of Armenia?” Pashinyan stated.
