Serious Disagreements at the White House

Serious disagreements have arisen at the White House regarding negotiations with Putin. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal. The U.S. President is uncertain whether to exert harsh pressure on the Kremlin.

Donald Trump's closest advisors have divided into two camps on this issue. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Keith Kellogg are urging the President to adopt a tougher stance against Moscow. They do not see genuine desire for peace from Putin and warn about the risks of placing too much trust in the Kremlin. Their recommendation is to make no concessions to Russia as long as Moscow continues to demand Ukrainian territory and does not cease military actions.

Currently, Trump seems to be listening more to his special envoy Steve Witkoff, who has personally met with Putin in Moscow twice and is convinced that the Russian autocrat desires peace.

These disagreements are now spilling into the public domain.
