I Had Underwear in the Army: Aleksanyan
Dear opposition colleagues, I had underwear in the army. This was stated by the member of the National Assembly from the 'Civil Contract' faction, Vahagn Aleksanyan.
'One day, while I was delivering a speech here in the hall, I was criticizing the Ministry of Defense under Seyran Ohanyan's government. Seyran Ohanyan said from his seat: 'Can you say that the army didn't give you underwear?' I replied, 'Mr. Ohanyan, is this a new thing that they haven't given? They didn't give me or the 100,000 soldiers either. So what have these impudent curators done? They have seized this issue and created a political narrative that targets me, saying, 'Ah, you didn't have underwear in the army.'
Dear opposition colleagues, I had underwear in the army, but you took the soldiers' underwear and consumed it. You consumed it metaphorically, but you were a power that consumed underwear, because you stole the underwear from the soldiers. Not from me, but from hundreds of thousands of soldiers. There has not been a soldier in Armenia who served and was provided with what is due to them, for example, 'telnashka' or other underwear. There wasn't any because you took it and consumed it,' stated the deputy.
He also added that during Serzh Sargsyan's administration, soldiers' underwear was 'eaten' in the army. 'Their impudence has reached such a level that now they come and accuse the soldiers who have gone through all of this. Yes, they have eaten gaiters, they have eaten soldiers' socks, they have eaten everything they have seen, these people have consumed it. They think they can use this to target the opposing side, but it's not surprising, because if they hadn’t eaten the soldiers’ underwear and gaiters, how would those wretches have fallen into the Baden-Baden casinos,' Aleksanyan remarked.
